3D Metal Manufacturing

Overview

In 2020, HP made waves in the digital manufacturing space through a new suite of software products aimed at enabling companies to scale their 3D technology. One of those products, 3D Center Premium, is an intuitive, cloud-based dashboard providing increased production control, productivity, and efficiency.

I was the lead user experience designer and my role was to radically pivot the product team by championing a user centric process and driving an end-to-end vision that dramatically increased end-user value and revenue for the business.

I led a team of 6 designers and collaborated closely with product management and engineering partners over 7 months. Together, we launched 3D Center Premium.

What we learned

We were able to increase sales of the product, securing several contracts with our largest customers and validating to the business the importance of providing world-class software solutions.

For HP to drive their business and increase their reach in the value chain, we needed to look outside of providing hardware solutions. Software and services are key to our evolution as an industry leader in digital manufacturing.
